JKAACL organizes ‘Ru-Ba-Ru, Pustak Parchol’ with Prof Seerat

JAMMU, Jan 22: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organized a literary event ‘Ru-Ba-Ru and Pustak Parchol’ with Prof. Surinder Singh Seerat, a renowned Punjabi Ghazal writer and novelist of J&K under the guidance of Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL.
Manjinder Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was chief guest on this occasion whereas Dr. Gurpal Singh Sandhu from Punjab University, Chandigarh presided over the function.
Prof. (Dr.) Baljit Kour, HoD Punjabi, University of Jammu and Dr. Kanwar Jasminder Pal Singh, Prof. State College, Patiala were special guests.
Popinder Singh Paras, Senior Editor Sheeraza Punjabi and Dr. Mohan Tyagi (Punjabi University, Patiala) were also present on the presidium.
In welcome address Popinder Singh Paras said that the Ru-Ba-Ru series of programmes has been organized from time to time by the Academy to have better interaction with eminent writers and other personalities.
A poetry collection titled ‘Jang Jaari Hai’ was released on this occasion. Three papers on the life, creativity and contribution of Prof. Surinder Singh Seerat were presented by Dr. Gurpreet Kour (University of Jammu), Dr. M.P Singh (Kashmir) and Dr. Mohan Tyagi (Punjabi University, Patiala).
Expressing his views on this occasion Dr. Gurpal Singh Sandhu, PU Chandigarh said that the poetry included in the released book has a universal appeal in respect of its content and themes reflecting the struggle of the human race with oddities.
Prof. Surinder Singh Seerat, Dr. Manjinder Singh, Dr. Kanwar Jasminder Pal Singh, Bibi Surjit Kour and Ajit Singh Mastana also expressed their views on this occasion.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Surinder Neer, a leading Novelist. The vote of thanks was extended by Popinder Singh Paras.
