JAMMU, Jan 6: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages (JKAACL) organized a seminar at K L Saigal Hall, here, today to celebrate the Goden Jubilee of ‘Sheeraza’ Punjabi Magazine published by the Academy.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur, HoD, Punjabi, University of Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion whereas the function was presided over by S. Kanwal Kashmiri, a well known Punjabi writer from Kashmir. Ajit Singh Mastana, senior writer from Kashmir was the guest of honour. Munir- ul- Islam, Secretary, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary and S. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Punjabi, JKAACL shared the dais.
Munir- ul- Islam, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages welcomed the guests, writers and intellectuals present on this occasion. In his address he congratulated the Punjabi section of the Academy to cover a long journey of publication of Sheeraza Punjabi.
Sheeraza Guru Granth Sahib Vishesh Ank and Collection of Articles were released on this occasion.
Key Note address was presented by Ajit Singh Mastana. Expressing his views, S. Kanwal Kashmiri, in his address said that the manuscripts of writers which are lying scattered here & there need to be compiled.
Dr. Baljeet Kaur in her address stressed on the need of making online the publication of Sheeraza Punjabi.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that the audio- visual documentation of the views and knowledge of the veteran writers and intellectuals need to be documented for further references and research work on the rich literary treasure of languages of Jammu & Kashmir.
In the second session papers were read out by Amandeep Kaur, Scholar at Punjabi Department of Jammu University, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik and Joginder Singh Paandhi.
The dais was shared by Harji Singh Uppal, president, Punjabi Sahitik Sabha, R S pura and Prof. Gurcharan Singh Raina from Kashmir and presided over by S. Didar Singh, veteran Punjabi and Hindi writer.
A Kavi Durbar was conducted in the final session. S. Gulshan Singh Gulshan from Poonch, Dr.Joginder Singh Shan were present on the dais and Dr. Vinod Nirmal presided over the session.
The poets who recited their poetry included M S Kaamra, Harjit Singh Uppal, Joginder Singh Shan, Mohan Singh Mastana, Surinder Neer, Balwinder Singh Deep, Amin Banihai, Suraj Parkash Rattan, Suraj Singh, Balwinder Singh, Ratan Singh Kanwal, Jang S. Verman, Hazura Singh Hazur, Swami Antarnirav, Gurcharan Singh Gulshan, Dr.Javed Rahi and Damodar Singh Hamdard.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by S. Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Punjabi, JKAACL. Dr. Javed Rahi, Chief Edito Gojri extended the vote of thanks.
