JKAACL starts 3 days painters’ camp

JAMMU, Dec 12: A three days painters’ camp for young artists was inaugurated here today by Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in the presence of senior artist Jang S. Verman as an expert.
Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, JKAACL was also present on this occasion.
Nine budding and young artists of Jammu region are participating in the camp.
Speaking on the occasion Bharat Manhas said the Academy is organizing literary, cultural and art events in different parts of J&K to provide a platform to young and senior artists, as well as to promote the art, culture and literature in their various genres and dimensions.
The young budding artists who are participating in the camp include Ankush Kesar, Lovesh Sharma, Shakti Kumari, Renu Bala, Mahua Gupta, Simran Dogra, Suneel Dutt, Sushil Bharti, Rohir Sharma.
A handout of the Academy stated that the artists will create in their choicest styles, one art work each, during the camp.
Irshad Tantray, Assistant Exhibition Officer is In-charge of the camp.
The camp was visited by many artists and art lovers including Rohit Verma, Sukhjit Singh Kukkal, Jasleen Singh, Vir Sumbli, K.K Ganjoo, Vanika Gupta, Pallak Gandotra, Ajay Singh Andotra, Subh Sharma and others.
