JKAP organizes ‘peace’ seminar

SRINAGAR, May 21: Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police today organized a seminar titled ‘Peace in the soil’ which was attended by kith and kin of the militancy affected families, members from civil society besides officers and personnel of police.
A police spokesman said the seminar was organized by 9th Battalion of JKAP. “The main aim of organizing this se    ming session on peace and difficulties faced on ground in its keeping. Various speakers from civil and the militancy affected families deliberated the difficulties faced due to unrest and importance of peace in society. They prayed: ‘No one should lose his/her nears and dears in the environment of hatred’,” he said.
On the occasion, the Commandant of the 9th Battalion, SSP Shailender Singh spoke in length about peace and various measures required to be taken. “He appealed for unity, peace and communal harmony in the society. He further said that peace is basic of all religions as well as human ethics and humanity. He wished for peace in the soil and reiterated commitment of police and his Battalion to restore peace in the state. An environment of moist eyes, clutching fists and wavering eyes was witnessed in the gathering during his address,” the spokesman said.
The seminar concluded with vote of thanks by Deputy SP, Mumtaz Ali Bhatti with a pledge with word of wisdom: “Melt their weapon, melt their hearts, and melt their anger with love and compassion.”
