JKASOA holds GBM

JAMMU, Apr 21:  The newly elected team of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service Officers Association (JKASOA) today organized its first general body meeting (GBM) here today.
In his opening address, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, KAS, Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, said that the credibility of the Association has increased due to the large scale participation of the KAS Officers in the elections. He, however, cautioned that the responsibility of the Association has also increased manifold and stressed on the need for pursuing the goals collectively.
Various issues pertaining to the KAS fraternity were discussed at length in the meeting. The meeting deliberated upon several service matters, time bound promotions, capacity building, implementation of Government Policy on allotment of accommodation, transfer policy and medical facilities especially for female officers, and authorized the Executive Council to pursue all these matters vigorously with the Government.
The president of the Association MH Mallik and vice president, G S Chib, assured that they would work tirelessly for achievement of the goals of the Association.
Dr G N Itoo, general secretary of the Association presented a detailed account of the issues confronting the KAS fraternity.
Concluding, the deliberations Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, treasurer, presented vote of thanks and hoped that members will continue to support the Association in achieving the goals.
Earlier the proceedings were initiated by S P Rukwal, publicity secretary while the welcome address was given by Rajinder Singh Tara, counsellor.
Senior KAS Officers including Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Gulz Qureshi, Manisha Devi, Salma Hameed, Arun Sharma, Devlata also attended the meeting.
