JKAVP demands eradication of caste based reservation

JAMMU, Dec 29: J&K Aarakshan Virodhi Party (JKAVP) has condemned the caste based reservation in the Country and the state of J&K and demanded the Government to completely abolish it.
Addressing a press conference, general secretary of JKAVP, Madan Lal Narad, said that since 1950 the caste based reservation has always been promoted by all political parties for the sake of their vote banks and in this way all these parties have deceived the people of general category and no welfare scheme has been ever launched in their favour.
“All successive Prime Ministers and political parties have made the Nation as casteist Nation”, he said, adding, the present Prime Minister of India, Narinder Modi has crossed all the limits by saying that I will sacrifice my life for the sake of reservation, which we strongly condemned.
Narad criticized all the political parties for supporting the caste based reservation. He said that caste based reservation was a temporary arrangement for 10 years and hence it should not be extended further. “It is unfortunate that all the political parties have been ignoring the poor of general category people and hurting their sentiments at large and playing the politics of vote bank”, he said.
Satpal Sharma, convener of JKAVP, demanded total abolition of caste based reservation in the interest of the country and demanding economic support to the weaker castes. He also demands implementation of no reservation in promotions in the light of verdict given by the High Court of J&K and appeals the Government of J&K not to bow down under pressure from some communal political parties.
