JKB organizes free medical camp

SRINAGAR, Apr 7: Continuing with its various Platinum Jubilee Initiatives, J&K Bank today organised a ‘free medical camp’ here at Corporate headquarters in collaboration with SKIMS Soura.
The Bank’s Executive President (EP) Parvez Ahmad and renowned Gastroenterologist Dr Gul Javid, who is also head of Gastroenterology, SKIMS, jointly inaugurated the camp in presence of Executive President O P Sharma, President Mohammad Syed, senior doctors from SKIMS, officers of the Bank and senior citizens from Srinagar.
The specialized check-up counters witnessed large number of patients, mostly elders from Srinagar, getting free counseling and consultations from eminent SKIMS doctors in General Medicine, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology and General Surgery.
Speaking on the occasion, Parvez Ahmad reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment towards empowering growth and all-round development of the people of J&K. “Under our Corporate Social Responsibility programmes, we shall make important interventions in improving the healthcare systems besides working for the up-gradation of the medical infrastructure of our State”, he added.
The senior consultants from SKIMS Soura included the renowned cardiologist Dr Khurshid Iqbal, Gastroenterologists Dr Gul Javed & Dr. G N Yatoo, Endocrinologist Dr Bashir Ahmad Laway, Nephrologist Dr Saleem Najar, General Surgeon Dr Muneer Wani and in General medicine Dr Parvez Koul.
A team of six consultant specialists along with two senior residents each provided the free medical check-up, counseling and consultations to more than 600 patients who came from various parts of the Srinagar district during the day.
Transworld Diagnostic Center Barbarshah and Abbot Labs conducted free clinical tests of the patients on the occasion.
Under Platinum Jubilee Initiative, the Bank will organize similar camps in other districts of the State.
Moreover, during the Platinum Jubilee year the Bank shall be conducting various special programmes for youth, women, growers and other sections of the society.
