JAMMU, May 26: J&K Bank Employees’ Association (JKBEA), Jammu unit today met under the chairmanship of its president, Hardeep Singh, to discuss various demands and grievances of the bank employees.
The meeting was held at Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Amphalla, Jammu and was attended by all the members of the Association including general secretary, Rohit Singh Langeh and AIJKBEF general secretary, Chand Ji Khair.
A healthy discussion on the issue of career progression, perks, allowances and all other issues pertaining to the welfare of the workmen cadre was held during the meet. The office bearers welcomed all the suggestions from the members and also listened to their grievances and assured them that the association will leave no stone unturned to resolve them.
The office bearers also told the members that the Chairman and CEO of the Bank has already passed on the instructions to the concerned quarters for the resolution of most of their issue’s as per their meeting held with him on May 5 at the Corporate Headquarters of the bank and they hoped that the festival of Eid will be bring double happiness and prosperity for their cadre.
The members also condemned the recent offer of meager 2% increase in the pay and allowances by the IBA in the ongoing XIth Bipartite Settlement process. They were of the view that it’s the mockery of the hard work rendered by the whole industry towards the welfare and development of the economy of the country.
They also demanded immediate intervention of the present Central Government of the country, who had successfully routed its entire welfare schemes through the banks, in the ongoing wage revision process and must direct the IBA to stop making fun of the bank employees and reward them as per their work and the high degree of risk associated with their job (even after their retirement).
Meanwhile, the executive body of the JKBEA Jammu unit was also constituted during the meeting.
