JAMMU, June 18: Jammu and Kashmir Cine Association (JKCA), the prime organization advocating a general cause of bringing whole artistic fraternity under one umbrella for holistic development of art, culture and cinema in J&K today conducted its first general body meeting.
Nearly 100 people drawn from variegated fields of art, culture and cinema attended the assembly of artists at K.L Saigal Hall to voice their issues and join JKCA for promotion, preservation and furthering of flourishing cinema, theatre and art in J&K.
The meeting also focused on various issues and aspects needed to be introduced and implemented for future course of action to make Jammu and whole J&K vibrant on cultural front.
Though the meeting was confined to membership drive yet JKCA president, Dharminder Kohli shed light on futuristic efforts to be taken up by JKCA unanimously for the betterment and growth of the institution for overall progress of artistic fraternity.
“It takes a united effort and approach for a community to rise to the standards of equality among its contemporaries and for the purpose JKCA has been formed as a general mass organization where every individual is welcomed, irrespective of his/her personnel commitment,” said Kohli.
Atul Vinod Duggal, JKCA general secretary gave a brief description of the motto envisaged to form the Association and was heartily responded with.
“We all need to see beyond our personnel bearings to give it a befitting start and a smooth sail,” he said.
On this occasion, certificates and welcome letters were given to the members with names, production houses and other credits at individual levels inscribed which formed the unique concept that was highly appreciated.
Rajesh Khajuria presented vote of thanks and said that JKCA expects that the govt under the administration of LG Manoj Sinha should open JK Film Policy for the benefit of one and all.
