JAMMU, Apr 7: 4th International Art Exhibition by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu concluded at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, here today. A valedictory ceremony was conducted on this occasion, wherein VK Singh, DG Hqr was the chief guest.
Art works of well known senior and young artists of the country as well abroad were displayed in the show.
The exhibition was dedicated to Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pt Kewal K Sharma, President, JKCCA, D P Abrol, Vice President, JKCCA, O P Sharma, Director, JKCCA, Mushtaq Ali Khan, well known film director & producer and senior artists ND Jamwal, T S Batra, Jang S. Verman were present on this occasion.
While speaking on this occasion, V K Singh said that going through the exhibition he was reminded of the words “A thing of beauty is joy forever.” He appreciated the works displayed in the exhibition and complimented the organizers for putting up such a nice show at Jammu. He said that he is reminded of the fact that creativity is reinventing and self realization of oneself. Pt. Kewal K Sharma and Mushtaq Ali Khan also expressed their views on this occasion.
Earlier, OP Sharma while welcoming the guests, highlighted the activities and achievements of JKCCA.
The works of the young artists of J&K, which were displayed in the exhibition included N D Jamwal, Gokal Dembi, T S Batra, Raj Bharti, Jang S Verman, (Late) Gobind Kaur, Shafi Chaman, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Ifitkhar Jaffar, Ashok Mehra, Aslam Naqishbandi, Kamal Nain Bhan, O P Sharma, Rouf Qayasi, M Y Bacha, Shakti Kumari, Amrit Kaur, Rattan Bhardwaj, Anila Singh Charak, Bhupinder Singh Sasan, Payal Chadha Gupta, Gaurav Kapoor, Kareen Mahajan, Nidhi Jain and Megha Khajuria.
The other artists from different states of India, whose works were displayed in the show included V S Rahi, Dr A K Dixit, Mangee Ram Sharma and K K Shreedhara (New Delhi, Prabhinder Lall and Shoma Das (Chandigarh), Dr. Nathu Lal Verma, Dr Nisha Soni (Rajasthan), Anuradha Thakur and Madhura Mohan Sharade (Maharashtra), K S Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Mala Chawla, Deepa Singh, Gaytri and Nisha (Punjab), Dr. Mamta Singh (Uttarakhand), Pratima Singh (UP), Ananna Roy Choudhary and Shikha Nandan (West Bengal).
The art works of the artists from abroad displayed in the exhibition included Dr. Clemens Beunkun Sou (South Korea), Thu Suong Vo (Vietnam), Feriha Zeba, Nondita Sutar and Kazi Nowrin Misha (Bangladesh), Leyela Yildirin (Turkey), Maria Hossain (US) and Olga Kozulenka (Russia).
