JKCCCC threatens massive protests

Srinagar, Apr 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Contractors Central Coordination Committee (JKCCCC) threatened to launch massive protests if the pending bills of the contractors are not released immediately.
“It seems that State Government is hell bent on crippling state’s economic sectors by not releasing the pending bills of the contractors responsible for development of the projects. The State Government has failed to clear the last fiscal bills of the contractors”, the statement said.
The statement further said: “Even though the contractors have raised the issue with the State authorities and also organized peaceful protests to press for the release of the demands, the bills of the last year have not been still cleared.”
General Secretary JKCCCC, Farooq Dar, said that huge funds get lapsed due to State Government’s discriminatory approach.
“Last fiscal bills are still pending with the treasuries. Government is not releasing funds to the treasuries and keeping them dry so that contractors suffer which hits developmental works in Kashmir,” said Dar.
