JAMMU, Jan 8: J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) has expressed its serious concern and anguish over the ongoing neo-liberal economic and anti-working class policies of Central Government which are causing innumerable hardships to the people and particularly the working class.
Talking to media-persons here today, president of the JKCCTU (National Secy, AISGEF), Mohd Maqbool alleged that alarming unemployment, price rise of essential commodities, large scale disinvestment in Pubic sector, attack on social security / pension, amendment in Labour laws in favour of Corporate, out sourcing, contractorisation and casualisation in Government / semi-Govt sector in a massive way with the abolition of permanent post, has caused large scale resentment among the employees and workers in almost all the sectors.
He further pointed out that huge burden exerted on the working people by way of GST and withdrawal of subsidy on essential items of livelihood, is causing sufferings on the people while on the other hand big bonanza is being given to the big capitalists, Corporate houses – both Indian and multi-nationals.
He alleged that August 5, 2019 act of the Government by breaking the J&K State into two UTs, has caused large scale uncertainty among the people and working class. He said democtratic and trade union rights are under attack. Internet blockage has caused huge sufferings, Power sector was unbundled, thus paving the way for big capitalists. Over 2 lakh temporary, casual, contract, Anganwadi and Asha workers are living in miserable condition. The process of regularization of these workers has been stalled.
He strongly demanded to stop the process of out sourcing, contractualization of Government departments, disinvestment and privatization of PSUs; regularization of all type of temporary workers and fill up all the vacant posts, withdraw national Pension Act and implement statutory Pension Scheme, restore democratic trade union rights in J&K and implement all existing Labour Laws, implement all the benefits of 7th Pay Commission.
