JAMMU, Apr 5: J&K Coordination Committee of Trade Unions (JKCCTU) has expressed its serious concern over the deteriorating economic conditions of daily wagers in Government and semi-Government departments, who were not getting even earned wages.
“Contrary to the Government claims, wages of these daily rated workers have not been released,” said Mohd Maqbool, President of JKCCTU, in a statement, issued here today.
Stating that these daily wagers, especially from Tourism Development Authorities, PDD, PHE, NHM, Asha, Anganwadi, Fisheries etc were working in this crisis and risking their own lives at call of the Government to fight COVID-19, the JKCCTU president demanded immediate release of their wages and providing them safety measures while working in critical situation.
