JAMMU, July 27: A meeting of J&K Central Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Union (JKCNGEEU) was held under the chairmanship of Mohammad Afzal Bhat Fatehpuri at Central office PDD complex Bemina Srinagar regarding the unwarranted suspension of AEE and attachment of XEN’s in Jammu Division. The emloyees of PDD unequivocally decided to resent against orders of the Administration. JKCNGEEU has expressed serious concern over the suspension and attachment of 17 PDD employees including two Executive Engineers, one AEE and 14 Meter Readers/ Technicians and gave short time ultimate to the higher authorities to revoke their suspension orders.
Meanwhile general secretary Parshotam Sharma,Provincial President Jammu Gurnam Singh Salathia, Surjeet Khajuria, Chander Vijay Singh, Rahul Koushal, Farooq Ahmed Bhatt, Shammi Abrol and Mohammad Altaf Manhas telephonically attended the meeting and unanimously decided future course of action. JKCNGEEU in one voice expressed strong resentment over the suspension and attachment orders of Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers issued by the administration and suspension orders of Tech-staff by Chief Engineer, JPDCL Jammu. The meeting was also attended by all district leaders.
They said the attachment and suspension orders are “arbitrary, beyond comprehension” and the staff in question have an impeccable record throughout their service career. During the peak summer, they have been doing every effort within the limited resources, to maintain smooth power supply. The staff has been performing continuous vigil on the power supply by their round the clock monitoring and even have been performing night shifts to keep things under close observation.
The members expressed strong concern that such step has severely dented the morale of the staff down the line and brought the employees and management at logger heads. The employees have been putting in more than hundred percent amidst the shortage of manpower already brought to fore by the union from time to time. The employees are now under severe stress and if such arbitrary orders are not revoked immediately, the Power scenario could get disturbed as all the employees from top to bottom are united on the issue.
JKCNGEEU has decided to gave short time notice to the management to revoke the suspension and attachment orders failing which there shall be an agitating mode of employees with lock down strike and the responsibility of any failure of power supply shall be exclusively of the management. They appealed Principal Secretary Power, Rohit Kansal for immediate intervention into the matter.
