JAMMU, Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir Doctors Coordination Committee (JKDCC) has sought action against a Pulwama councilor identified as Bilal Ahmad for barging into the duty room of a doctor and abusing them.
In a handout issued today, the JKDCC alleged that Councillor Bilal ahmed barged into the duty room of a doctor at 6:30 PM and hurled choicest abuses by the name of mother and sister. “The doctor concerned had felt so much threatened and intimidated but he still managed his duties overnight without any compromise despite huge mental trauma,” the JKDCC added.
“The action of blocking patient care could have resulted in the death or a serious complication in any of the critical patients admitted in the emergency,” the Committee said, adding, doctors are waiting for action within two working days as has been assured by District Magistrate Pulwama.
The Committee said if the action is not taken within the given time period, doctors will be forced to go for a Union Territory wide protest/strike and the responsibility of the same would not lie on them.
