JKDF launches Jail Bharo Andolan

JAMMU, Aug 25: A large number of people courted arrest on the Jail Bharo call of the Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) to persuade the Government to immediately announce the unemployment allowance for youth of the State till they are absorbed in jobs.
Holding JKDF flags and placards in their hands, people including women gathered at Indira Chowk to participate in “Jail Bharo Andolan” and to express the concern about the Government apathy towards youth of State particularly Jammu region.
The police contingent at the venue failed to accommodate the agitators with only two buses and instead used brutal lathicharge to disperse the peaceful agitators who were there to court arrests, instead JKDF activists have to arrange their own vehicles and some of them marched on foot to reach the police Station to court arrests.
MLA Jammu West Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, MLA Domana Bharat Bhushan and MLA Basohli Jagdish Sapolia were also present at the venue to support the demand  of Jammu youth for unemployment allowance.
Murari Lal a senior party leader said, “We warn this Government that our agitation shall intensify if our demand for granting unemployment allowance to youths will not be conceded. We appeal to people to be prepared for holding such rallies and protests in future also as this Government will not pay any heed to the problems. JKDF is determined to take this struggle to logical end until our demand is met.”
The prominent JKDF members who  courted arrests were  Satpal Grover,  Tej Ram,  Surinder Sharma,  Ram Kumar,  Murari Lal,  Krishan Lal, Arun Khanna,  Prashant Puri,  Raja Vivek,  Veenu Khanna, Shruti Khajuria, Priya Gupta, Neelam Devi, Shabo Devi,, Snehlata, Monika Gupta, Reeta Devi,  Kalu Ram Khajuria, Rohit Kerni, Ashok Gandhi, Ravi Dogra, Vijay Kumar and  Happy.
