JAMMU, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Dairy Farmers Association (JKDFA) President Kulbhushan Khajuria along with Vice President Surjeet Singh, Sukhdev Choudhary and General Secretary Tarun Sharma met Atal Dulloo Additional Chief Secretary (Financial Commissioner Agriculture) and discussed the problems being faced by dairy farmers.
JKDFA Members also submit a Memorandum to Atal Dulloo in which association highlights some problems faced by milk producer.
Khajuria said the Government constituted Jammu and Kashmir Milk Producer cooperative Limited (JKMPCL) for the betterment of the milk producers but when the Government handed over this society to companies like Amul, they earn only money from that unit and nothing has done for the betterment of the milk producers.
“Revive this society for the welfare of the dairy farmers and taking back its working from Amul and run by UT administration by its own, so that the farmers can take benefit in this time of pandemic”, Khajuria demanded.
Suspecting some kind of tempering, the Association demanded check of milk analyzer and weighing machine installed at JKMPCL.
The farmers request the Government to take timely decision to redress the burning issues.
