The protestors were trying to take out a march from the Press Enclave towards Raj Bhavan, however, the police personnel stationed at the spot did not let them proceed ahead.
“The employees of J&K are facing a wide range of issues. The MGNREGA employees are on strike for the last more than five months, seeking resolution of their issues; the salaries of ICDS Supervisors have not been released for the last several months apart from several other issues related to other employees,” Shah Fayaz, president JKECC said.
He said that the CPWs are facing step-motherly treatment from the administration and are being exploited by violating the minimum wages act. “There is the issue of transfer policy concerning teachers; the tourism department daily wagers are without pay from last five years while as the vocational trainers are also seeking resolution of their problems,” he said
The protestors said that they have been bringing the issues to the notice of the administration, however, they said, so far nothing has been done and the issues remain unaddressed.
“Today’s joint protest is to press for the resolution of the issues which the employees are facing; enough is enough now, we have been through a lot and continue to suffer,” the protesting employees said.
They impressed the administration to take notice of the issues which they are facing and have been highlighting for a long.
