Srinagar, Feb 29: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) at Sempora in Pampore area of South Kashmir today resumed its office work and training activities after nine days following deadly gunfight that broke out between Fidayeen and security forces on February 20.
A spokesman of the EDI said the programme verticals of JKEDI including Community Mobilization and Engagement, Business Assistance and Support Services, Project Management and Implementation Services, Centre for Trainings and Skill Development, Start-Up Finance Institution, HR, Utilities and Support, Finance and Accounts and Credit Appraisal and Management Department started the normal work in their respective makeshift offices in the hostel complex of the institute.
He said the institute staff showed dedication in making JKEDI resume the office work along with training of aspiring entrepreneurs amid reconstruction in shortest possible time. The spokesman said before starting the training activities, a special prayer meet was organized in the hostel complex to pay tributes to JKEDI Gardening Attendant, Late Abdul Ghani Mir, who fell to the bullets during cross firing on February 20.
The prayer meet was attended by JKEDI staff and 140 trainees including females who prayed for peace to the departed soul, he said. “Impressed with the decision of JKEDI staff to donate one day salary, the trainees on the occasion expressed their will to offer financial help to the family of Late Mir, he added.
