JAMMU, May 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) today strongly criticised the concerned PDD authorities for non- filling up of vacant posts and demanded promotions at all the cadres.
In a meeting of the executive body of the Association held under the chairmanship of Sachin Tickoo, general secretary and attended among others by Ashok Dubey ,vice president, MP Singh, Provincial secretary , Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial publicity cecretary, Vipul Sharma treasurer, Purshottam Sharma, cashier here in Jammu, deliberated in detail the complete inertia in the administration towards the filling up of the hundreds of vacant posts in the hierarchy of the department, badly affecting the administrative efficiency in peak summers.
It is pertinent to mention that even the sanctioned strength of the department which was notified in 1981 is today 50 percent vacant. It is beyond any iota of doubt that government has been delaying the filling up of the vacant posts and engineers are holding additional charge of so many assignments and working for more than 24 hours without any break in view of unavailable staff. The staff is complaining of serious health issues due to the extraordinary stress of work extending beyond 24 hours on a stretch.
JKEEGA has been seeking the appointment of Principal Secretary to brief him about the vacant posts and even remind him of the various promotion files lying in the e-Office at various levels since months without any approval from competent authority. It took two months for the Administrative department vide their letter no PDD/HRM/33/2022-05-PDD of 27//04/2022 to reply that apply to personal section for appointment in response to our letter no -JKPEECC/285 Dated10/02/22.
The members deliberated the pathetic condition of the PDD employees deputed to Corporations and are being subjected to more than 24 hours of duty without a break in absence of the persons against the large no of vacant posts. There are Joint Managing Director CVPPPL=1 No vacant since 2015 ,ED-4 No’s,CE-4, SE-10, XEN-20, AEE-117, AE- 205,JEs -300 No’s vacant in the Corporations and manned on additional charge basis. It is totally absurd that both the positions of CE JKPTCL Jammu and CE JKPTCL are being manned by Superintending Engineers, without promoting the eligible officers. Similarly other positions down the line are suffering from administrative apathy.
JKEEGA strongly appealed the Principal Secretary PDD to fulfill the aspirations of the employees and infuse a renewed zeal among the cadres.
