JAMMU, Nov 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) today called on Principal Secretary, PDD Rohit Kansal and apprised him of the issues of the engineering cadre.
Led by Sachin Tickoo, general secretary along with Ashok Kumar Dubey, vice president, MP Singh, Provincial secretary, Rajeshwar Jamwal, Provincial publicity secretary, Yash Paul Organising secty, Vipul sharma treasurer, the delegation called on Principal Secretary at Civil Secretariat, Jammu and strongly raised the cadre issues.
The delegation apprised Kansal about burning issues of the Power employees . The delegation informed him about the number of posts which are lying vacant in the hierarchy of the Power Development Department from AE to CE level and it is urged that the due promotions of eligible candidates be completed on priority.
The members while appreciating the role of the Principal Secretary PDD and HRM wing on the regularization front sought that the process be continued with same momentum and expressed full faith in the vision of the Administrative Secretary. The cadres down the line are enthusiastic that there is a positive development on each issue brought to the notice of the administration and huge backlog of 20 years is being cleared.
The delegation also sought that assured career progression scheme for the Engineers should be notified at an earliest and Power Development Department should take a lead on this.
The delegation also informed that at present salary of the staff is met out of “Grant-in-Aid” from Government and same is being regulated on advance drawl basis at Secretariat level. It is being felt inevitable to immediately to delink the salary from the Grant- in- Aid mechanism and restore mechanism of drawl of salary properly from respective Treasuries to expel apprehensions so aroused, besides routing salaries through treasuries will enhance the precision in making expenditures.
The Principal Secretary gave patient hearing to all the issues and promised early redressal.
