JAMMU, Dec 31: J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) delegation led by its president Doulat Ram Bhagat met Principal Secretary, Power Development Department (PDD) Arun Kumar Mehta and submitted charter of demands.
The members of the association expressed concern over the major issue of non-regularisation and its demoralized effects on the fraternity members at all levels. They said that process of regularization/confirmation at various levels of engineers may be expedited.
After detailed discussion, Principal Secretary issued on spot instructions to concerned additional secretary HRM to expedite the said process.
The members of the delegation also raised the issue of the problems faced by electric engineers post electrical mishaps and subsequent harassment met by the officers during the course of investigation.
Mehta assured the delegation that matter would be immediately taken up with the Home Department and respective Chief Engineers to create a mechanism.
The issue regarding the deputation of the Engineers to other organizations was also discussed with the request that deputation to such organizations should be for fixed tenure and officer repatriated to the parent department on completion of the tenure. A proper cadre management with creation of posts required for deputing engineers to these organizations like CVPP, JKSPDC should be planned and processed as per various MoUs signed. Instructions in this connection were given to the concerned for preparing the report with requirement of engineers to be sent to these organizations with creation of proper cadre strength.
Promotions at all levels by filling up the vacant posts was also raised and assurance was given for its early disposal.
On the issue of enhancement of the fixed TA in favour of JEs, case should be recommended and referred to Finance Department for processing and approval. All the relevant issues such as extension of ACP to Engineers, fixing of seniority of AMIE Engineers, etc were also discussed.
