JKESL suspends protest after getting assurance from LG

JAMMU, Jan 30: In connection with brutal manhandling and torture of two Ex-Servicemen by SHO Bakshi Nagar, the JKESL President, Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma was today called by LG Manoj Sinha.
This was informed by JKESL President, Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma in a press conference held here today.
Addressing to the media persons, Sharma informed, that the LG has assured them that an independent and a fair inquiry of the unfortunate incident will be carried out immediately.
The LG also called ADGP Jammu Zone, Anand Jain and passed instructions to take action at the earliest.
ADG apprised the LG that he has ordered another enquiry into the incident.
After getting the assurance from the LG of strict action against the SHO Bakshi Nagar and others, the JKESL has decided to suspend their protest and dharna, till the outcome of the enquiry.
A review of the situation will be carried out by JKESL after 3-4 days and if the Ex-Servicemen Community is not satisfied with the action being taken against the erring SHO, a massive potest march and dharna will be organised all over J&K(UT).
