JAMMU, Nov 18: Jammu and Kashmir Election Watch (JKEW) and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) today released the analytical data compiled by them from the affidavits and undertakings submitted by the contesting candidates of all political parties during the ongoing first phase of State Assembly elections.
Addressing the media person, State co-ordinator of JKEW Balvinder Singh said that the main reason behind releasing the analytical data was to show analysis in front of people of State who are going to exercise their vote in first phase of Assembly election.
He reveled that out of 123 candidates contesting in first phase of Assembly elections, 5 candidates have criminal cases against them and 46 are crorepati candidates. The average assets per candidate contesting are Rs 1.38 crore, he added.
Singh further said that out of the 123 candidates analysed, 46 are crorepatis including 9 of NC, 7 of PDP, 6 of BJP, 5 of Congress and 13 independents candidates as they have declared assets of more than Rs 1 crore.
