JAMMU, Feb 2: J&K Employees and Workers Association (JKEWA) has urged upon the State Governor to ensure it that much needed justice is accorded to over 3660 left over daily rated workers whose fate was discussed during the Budget meeting held under him on January 30, 2016.
Talking to media-persons here chairman of the Association Mir Tariq Pampori extended gratitude to the State Governor N N Vohra for taking up the case of during Budget meeting with the Chief Secretary B R Sharma, Principal Secretary to Governor P K Tripathi and Chairman Empowered Committee / Commissioner Secretary Finance Navin Choudhary and directing them to complete the process of the regularization of left over DRWs before March Ist, 2016.
The families of these left over DRWs who have rendered the services for over 15 to 20 years in different Department have felt a big relief. With long struggle this could be achieved while several officers tried to create hurdles in the process.
Mir Tariq appealed to the State Governor Mr Vohra to direct the Empowered Committee and concerned Administrative Departments not to create any unnecessary conditions or queries while pursuing the cases of these workers because these workers have lost their youthful period of life and cannot afford to wait any more. He also urged the State Governor to frame a definite policy for the regularization of such workers.
The JKEWA chairman further appealed the casual labours, need base workers, seasonal workers and CP workers and all other DRWs who were engaged after 1994 and up to March 2015, not to fall prey in the hands of some so called self styled union leaders who have been exploiting and misleading them.
General secretary, Ashiq Hussain Mir, Abdul Ahad Mir, Shadi Lal and others were also present.
