JKFFA pays tributes to martyr Abdul Hamid

JAMMU, Sept 10: To remember Hav Abdul Hamid, the great martyr who turned Khem Karan sector of Pakistan into the grave yard of American made Patton tanks in the Indo-Pak War of 1965, the J&K Freedom Fighters’ Association (JKFFA) held an impressive function at Dogra Shaurya Sthal, Ambphalla.
The function was organized by the president of the Association, Ved Gandotra while Kiran Wattal was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the members threw light over the Indo-Pak war of 1965, which was won under the dynamic leadership of late Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then Prime Minister of India, who gave the nation, the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kissan’. They added that the Indian Army fought the then war in a high spirit and usurped many areas of the Pakistan and forced the Pakistanis to flee from many areas.
The destruction of Patton tanks (American made) was also an achievement of the Indian Army which turned the Khem Karan Sector in Pakistan as the grave yard of the said tanks.
The members said that Hav Abdul Hamid was the Hero, in destruction of the Patton tanks, who destroyed the maximum of the tanks and finally lost his life, while lying under a tank with arsenal bound on his body.
Floral tributes were paid to the great martyr by showering petals on his photograph, candles were lit in his honour and two minutes silence was observed.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion were Rajiv Mahajan (State president, Shri Ram Sena), Rakesh Sharma, Gaurav, Ashok Kuamr and Prabhat Kapahi.
