JKGB organizes 25 camps on last day of financial literacy week

JAMMU, June 9: Financial literacy week being celebrated by J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) culminated today with 25 camps organized across the State on last day.
A total of 181 financial literacy camps were organized across the State during JKGB’s financial literacy week to widespread the financial literacy and digital banking. All these camps were organized by Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of JKGB as per the guidelines of RBI under the chairmanship of RK Chhibber.
The motto of the financial literacy week was to bridge up the gap between the rural unbanked masses and banking by increasing the customer awareness.
A total of 181 camps were conducted to observe the financial literacy week. Out of which, 98 camps were conducted in Jammu division including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Rajouri and Poonch districts whereas 83 camps were conducted in Kashmir division covering the districts Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Srinagar and Ganderbal.
The main areas of focus were primarily KYC, exercising credit discipline, grievance redressal and going digital (*99# & UPI). The customers are educated by the various aids like charts, pamphlets & videos etc.
The masses are also demonstrated about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, online banking, IMPS , SMS banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System and Direct Benefit Transfer, to promote the digital banking and move towards the less – cash economy.
