JKGB organizes credit-cum-awareness programme

JAMMU, Sept 17: J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) organized credit-cum-awareness programme at village Shibba in Block Dansal, here today.
G M Sadiq, Chief General Manager, JKGB, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the awareness programme on financial inclusion in an impressive function.
While speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the initiatives taken by the Bank for credit dispensation in the diversified activities for the purpose of setting up economic units for augmenting the income of the families and in turn overall development of the rural people through institutional credit.
He also highlighted the policies and programmes of the Bank for facilitating financial inclusion programme. Later, he inaugurated the Ultra Small Branch at village Shibba.
Earlier V K Sharma, senior manager, Microfinance and Financial Inclusion, appraised the gathering about various lending schemes of the Bank for providing credit to agriculturists, business community, transporters etc.
An amount of Rs 77, 00,000 was disbursed on spot to the various customers in the shape of KCC/GCC, Dairy, etc. He also informed that their bank have appointed a Business Correspondent in their village, to whom they may contact for their banking needs. Transactions through POT machine was also carried out by the bussiness correspondent of village Shibba.
Representatives from RBI and NABARD, Dinesh Gupta and Nitin Hingole, respectively also spoke on the occasion and enlightened the gathering about the importance of Financial Inclusion for the benefit of rural masses.
