JAMMU, Jan 23: Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department of J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with NABARD organized a Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programme (D-FLAP) in village Mathwar (unbanked area) under the branch office Bhalwal.
RK Chhibber, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) was the chief guest on the occasion. While speaking on the occasion, he highlighted developments in banking sector. He informed the participants regarding various modes of getting cashless transactions from banks, various safeguards to be kept in mind in order to be aware and prevent cases of cheating/corruption while availing different banking facilities with special reference to use of ATM cards, mobile banking, etc.
He impressed upon the participants not to use any middle man from availing any benefit from the bank and approach the bank branch directly. He laid emphasis on adoption of social security schemes launched by Government of India on war footing.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, JKGB, laid emphasis on cashless economy and he guided the people to make transactions without having cash in hand. He enlightened people about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of bank cheques, use of PoS machine, Rupay debit card, KCC Rupay debit card, net banking, mobile banking services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions, etc.
He also made the people aware about various lending schemes tailored by the bank for general public available on easy EMIs i.e, housing loan, transport loan, car loan, education loan, etc where rate of interest charged by the bank is very competitive.
KL Sharma, Regional Manager, Jammu, JKGB detailed the people regarding social security schemes APY, PMJJBY and PMSBY.
Meanwhile, Rupay debit cards and GCCs, KCCs, Dairy as well as car loans of more than Rs 30 lakh were also disbursed among the beneficiaries. Representatives of various line departments also attended the programme.
