JKGEJAC raises issues of daily wagers, consolidated workers

JAMMU, Oct 18: The J&K Govt Employees Joint Action Committee, (JKGEJAC) Jammu today, strongly raised issues of daily wagers and other consolidated workers on agitation and extended them full support.
A meeting was held today at Jammu which was attended by several senior Trade Union leaders from various employees’ Unions/ Associations. All the participants in one voice supported the ongoing struggle of the employees of different
Govt Deptts including the daily wagers, contingency paid workers, Rehber-e-Khel ( PET) and other related cadres working since long in the different Govt Deptts and they have not been regularised, They are working at the very meagre wages and are waiting for their regularisation in their respective Departments. Moreover, they are not being paid their wages regularly and many of them are unable to meet their both ends meet in these hard days putting their families to the starvation. The JKGEJAC fully supports all the demands of these employees.
The participants appealed to the LG and all the Advisors to the LG to take the personal initiative to resolve the issue and provide the justice to this aggrieved class of the employees by regularising them at the earliest before the issue take an ugly turn.
The Central leadership of the JKGEJAC decided to hold the two hour protest demonstration in the premises of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, on 20-10-2020, Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. to press the present Government to concede the demands of the daily wagers, Contingency paid workers.
Rehber-e-Khel & other related cadres working in the Deptts of PWD, PDD, PHE, EDU, PSU, CPW, REK, etc should be provided justice without any more delay. The Central leadership of all the Govt Deptts appealed all the participants to observe two hours protest demonstration.
Prominent among those who participated in the meeting included Sushil Sudan (JKMEF), Ganesh Khajuria (JKTF), Nazir Bhat (Sales Tax), Subash Verma, Kartar Chand, Dubey, Davinder Singh, Balvadar Chand (PHE Employees United Front), Gurmeet Singh (Irrigation), Ashish Sharma (PWD/ R&B), Suresh Sharma (PSU), Maheshwar Parshad (National State Govt Employees Federation), Rakesh Sharma (Ranbir Govt Press), Omar Jan (Social Welfare Deptt).
