JKGLTF urges Govt to release funds for Teachers

JAMMU, May 2: All Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF) has urged the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar to release the grants for Teachers and Masters working under NPS, SSA and RMSA schemes immediately.
In a statement issued, forum general secretary Rakesh Singh said that Teachers and Masters working under these schemes are reeling under acute financial crisis as they had not got salary for last five to six months. District president Dr Purushottam singh said that the coming of new Government in the State, Teachers and Masters working under these schemes have a sigh of a relief and hoped that the newly incumbent Finance Minister will come to their rescue and release the grants of salary without any further delay.
Ravinder Kumar, district chairman urged the Government to evolve a concrete strategy so that their salary system be smoothened and they do not have to wait for months together fore their salaries.
Vivek Gupta, vice president highlighted that present recruitment system is totally baseless and anti-unemployed youth and demanded to roll it back.
Forum said that SRO 469 has arbitrary order of previous Government and should be revoked by present cabinet. Other demands include earned leave and leave encashment in favour of teaching community, enhancement of medical allowance, education allowance for higher degrees, twenty days casual leaves for teachers.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Ashish Sahma, Govind Singh, Jatinder Singh, Naresh Abrol, Sham Sharma, Sihan Lal, Ajeet Gupta, Satish Raina and Kusum Lata.
