JAMMU, Sept 3: Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacists’ Association (JKGPA) projected its demands which include clearance of DPC at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization.
Addressing a press conference here today, Sushil Sudan, State president, JKGPA Jammu raised various demands pertaining to pharmacists cadre. He appealed the Government to clear DPC of pharmacists at par with Government Medical College/Drug & Food Control Organization on the pattern of executive order passed by the Administrative Department till the SRO-20 (recruitment Rules) is modified. He also stressed that promotions should be accorded strictly as per seniority.
Sudan also raised the demand of enhancement of entry level grade pay of pharmacists from 2400 to 4200 as per the Central Government, running grade for pharmacists after rendering 5, 10 and 15 years of services as per practice in the department and upgradation of posts of Pharmacist as Senior Pharmacist, Supervisory Pharmacist, Head Pharmacist, Block Pharmacy Officer and District Pharmacy Officer.
He appealed the Government and concerned higher authorities to fulfill all these demands and resolve other issues so that the Health services could be taken to the mark of perfection.
Meanwhile, Sushil Sudan on behalf of the Association extended full support to striking Government pharmacists of Haryana. He announced that all Government pharmacists of J&K will wear black batches on September 5 during working hours to show their solidarity towards their counterpart in Haryana. Sudan said that Government of Haryana should consider all the genuine demands of Pharmacist Employees Association, Haryana on priority.
