JKHDC employees without salaries for 2 years

JAMMU, Apr 22: The employees of J&K Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) are without salaries for about last two years.
The aggrieved employees of the Corporation in an appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha have sought his intervention in the matter. They said besides, the salaries the retired employees of Corporation have also not been given the gratuity and leave salary permissible under rules.
The employees in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Mir Ghulam Rasool a senior trade Union leader and former general secretary Low Paid Employees Federation expressed grave concern over the stoic silence maintained by the higher ups in the Government on this issue. They said the condition of the employees is very bad and some of the families are on the verge of starvation due to nonpayment of salaries for last 23 months.
Mir Ghulam Rasool, while extending support to the demand urged the Government to take immediate steps in releasing the salaries of these employees besides the pending dues of retired employees.
