JAMMU, Dec 22: A deputation of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation (JKLTF) today met Director School Education Jammu (DSE-J), Anuradha Gupta, in her office and discussed burning issues of teaching community.
The delegation was led by Balwan Singh Jamwal, Joginder Singh Manhas and Sudarshan Sharma (president, working president and general secretary of the Federation) along with other members of the central body.
A charter of demands was submitted to the Director seeking early redressal. The demands included in the charter were resolving salary related issues of ReTs/RReTs under SSA and teaching faculty of RMSA (Samagra Shiksha Aviyan), frame transparent transfer policy to streamline the education system, Adjustment of teachers should be restricted to zone, tehsil to avoid the dislocation of the teachers, resolving salary related issues of surplus masters working in different schools and suitable adjustment considering their home address and their age and filling all vacant posts of Principals, ZEO’s, Lecturers, Headmasters, Masters, Teachers and IV-class in the institutions.
Other demands like regularization of all cadres of school education at the time of their promotion, benefit of earned leave to the teaching community on the pattern of other state Government employees, revival of 40% quota of +2 lecturers in higher education as Assistant professor, exemption of teachers from non-academic duties and enhancement of medical allowances from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that their grievances and demands shall be redressed at earliest.
Chaman Lal Sharma, Shamsher, Sanjiwan Singh Jamwal, Tara Chand, Jagdeep Singh, Dinesh Singh Jamwal, Satish Sharma, Sandal Singh, Jyoti Parkash Sharma and Rakesh Kalgotra were also part of the deputation.
