JKLTF deputation meets Director School Education

JAMMU, Aug 10: A deputation of All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers’ Federation today met Director School Education (DSE), Jammu, in his office chamber and submitted a charter of demands to him.
The deputation led by JKLTF president, Balwan Singh also held deliberations with the Director and discussed the burning demands of the teaching fraternity.
The delegation apprised the Director that normless transfer policy is one of the major factor in deteriorating standard of education in schools. The teachers have become political instruments in the hand of politician who utilize their  services for their political gains on the pretext of their undue favouritism in their transfer, they alleged.
The delegation asserted for framing a fool proof transfer policy to save the education system before it totally collapses.
The JKLTF president also demanded to bring back all the masters working outside the home districts for last 3 to 4 years, to their home districts.
He also demanded that post of DSE should be from School Education Department.
Other demands included cash-in-lieu benefit for the teaching fraternity on the pattern of other State Government employees, filling all vacant posts of teachers, masters, lecturers and non-teaching staff, release of salary grants timely, exemption of teachers from extra academic duties, providing authority to CEOs to transfer master within their districts and granting senior teacher grade to trained undergraduate teachers, etc.
