JKLTF elects body, discusses demands

UDHAMPUR, Oct 8: District body meeting of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teacher Federation (JKLTF) was held under the chairmanship of Mohan Singh, State president and Maheshwer Prashad Sharma, State general secretary of the organization respectively in which the body for Udhampur district was announced with Krishan Lal Master as its president.
The meeting also discussed the demands of teachers fraternity.
The federation demanded the release of of 17 % DA with immediate effect, eradication of corruption in Education Department and other allied problems. The members unanimously decided to fight tooth and nail the degradation system of education at various levels.
The meeting discussed the pick and choose policy in the transfers and adjustment of promoted masters and lectures and demanded that the clear cut and concrete transfer/promotion and adjustment policy be adopted.
The Federation however welcome the ban on the transfers particularly in Education Department by the GAD and demanded that it should remain imposed till Session 2014-2015 ends.
The other members of new district body who were elected in the meeting included Satvir Choudhary as district general secretary, Bharat Bhushan as senior vice president, Rakesh Sharma as organizer, Baghwan Dass and Aman Joti as special invitee.
Other who spoke in the meeting were Vijay Kumar, Nek Ram, Ramesh Verma, Rakesh Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Ravinder Verma, Bhushan S Verma and Kuldeep Singh.
