JKMEA discuss demands

JAMMU, Aug 11: A meeting of All J&K Mechanical Engineers Association (JKMEA) was held here today under the chairmanship of Er NN Thusu, wherein they highlighted the demands of mechanical engineering community.
During the meeting, president of the Association, Er RK Kohli apprised the mechanical engineers about the recent meeting held with Minister, Roads and Buildings in Srinagar, wherein they put up their demands and submitted a charter of demands including promotion of assistant engineers to superintendent engineers, enhancement of fixed traveling allowance to Rs 1000 per month, placement of junior engineer mechanical grade II as junior engineer mechanical grade I against 85 posts created vide Government order No 370-PW, etc, to him.
The Minister assured the deputation of engineers to redress their genuine demands and the charter of demands was further forwarded to the Commissioner, Public Works Department, for appropriate action, Kohli told the meeting.
Prominent among others who attended the meeting includes Er TR Sharma, Er KK Chopra, Er DK Sharma and many others.
