JKMEF demands compensation for deceased NHM employee

JAMMU, Aug 20: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employee Federation (JKMEF), Jammu has demanded special compensation cum financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh for the family of deceased NHM employee from district Kathua.
The demand was raised during a meeting of the Federation held under the presidentship of Sushil Sudan in the complex of Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Jammu. Sudan said that late Pawan Kumar, age 42 yrs (ISM Pharmacist) sacrificed his precious life in the line of duty towards nation after he got electrocuted while hoisting National Flag in Hospital Building on Independence Day.
He said that Pawan Kumar working under NHM at PHC Haria Chak in district Kathua was the only earning hand in his family. Sudan said the Government should immediately intervene into the matter by granting compensation to his family on the analogy of those who scarified their lives towards nation so that the sacrifice given by the NHM employee does not go waste.
The JKMEF president urged upon the LG Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary A K Mehta, Administrative Secretary Bhupinder Kumar, MD NHM and Director ISM Mohan Singh to immediately release special compensation to the deceased family, treating a case in interest of nation.
