JKMEF demands masks, sanitizers for on-duty health employees

JAMMU, Mar 20: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), Jammu province has appealed the health authorities to provide hand sanitizer and masks to the employees on duties.
Addressing a joint meeting of JKMEF and Medical Employees Association, GMC Jammu in Directorate of Health Services Complex (Federation Office), Sushil Sudan, president JKMEF said that authorities should immediately provide sanitizers and masks to the health employees on duty.
Taking serious note of the rumor of retirement age of 33/60 which are being posted in social media and even in section of news papers causing unrest among the employees, he said if retirement age of consultant and faculty members can be raised to 62 years, then same gesture should be extended to the paramedical as well as technical staff, as the Health & Medical Education department is already facing acute shortage of such manpower.
It was also appealed to the general public in the meeting that as a preventive measure to tackle the wide spread of COVID-19, only sick patient requiring emergency care should visit the health institutions and avoid unnecessary crowd in the OPDs and office complexes.
Those present in the meeting were Ch Jarnail Singh working president JKGPA, Pawan Jeet, president, Staff Nurse Employee Association, Kamal Jit Sawhney, general secretary JKGPA and others.
