JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today highlighted the demands and problems of health employees.
In a meeting held today under the presidentship of JKMEF president Sushil Sudan, the speakers discussed the severity of the situation arisen due to second wave of COVID-19 and the difficulties faced by the health employees in performing their duties.
They said as many frontline workers are also infected with COVID 19 virus during ongoing 2nd wave of COVID-19, a separate ward or treatment facility should be provided to all infected employees to ensure their speedy recovery so as to avoid any shortage of work force in near future.
The speakers further expressed concern over non-release of Rs 50 lakh insurance amount to the families of those employees who lost their lives due to COVID-19 while performing their routine duties during 1st wave of COVID-19 pandemic. They urged the Government to release their 50 laces insurance claim as early as possible.
“The frontline workers are fighting this second wave 24×7 with their full potential but it is very unfortunate that they are deprived of their genuine service benefits i.e. DPC which has not been done for last four years,” the participants said and demanded to convene the DPC meeting at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Parfulat Singh (general secretary JKMEF), Ch Jarnail Singh (president, JK Government Pharmacists Association), Neelem Kumari (president, JK Female Multipurpose Workers Welfare Association), Pawan Singh Jamwal (president, JK Basic Health Employees Association) and others.
