JKMEF holds convention, highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, June 11: One day convention of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, District Udhampur, was held, here today at District Hospital Complex, under the chairmanship of Dheeraj Sharma.
Sushil Sudan, president of the Medical Employees Federation, Jammu Division, was chief guest in the convention, which was attended by a large number of employees from the entire district.
During the convention, the speakers highlighted various demands, which include enhancement of retirement age of Para Medical staff at par with Doctors, release of salary of staff working under 2211-Family Welfare Scheme, enhancement of posts of District Pharmacy Officer and Block Pharmacy Officers, enhancement of FTA from Rs 45 to Rs 2000 to Basic Health employees, creation of posts in Block Headquarters and CMO offices, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre and other categories, regular DPC of all categories, amendment of SRO 20 pending for the last two decades, creation of posts of LHVs in new PHCs so that FMPHWs are absorbed in such PHCs on promotion.
Besides Sushil Sudan and Dheeraj Sharma, others who spoke on the occasion, included Jarnail Choudhary, Ashwani Khajuria, Manjeet Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Mela Singh, Kuldeep Dabgotra, Vishav Vandhu, Sham Sundar, Vishal Patil, Surjit Kumar, Madan Kumar, Jag Dutt and Mahima Devi.
During the convention, the Federation members honoured Sushil Sudan and Jarnail Choudhary for their recent election as national general secretary and national executive member, respectively of the All India Government Pharmacists Association.
