JKMEF to observe 3 hrs token strike today, tomorrow

JAMMU, May 29: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) has decided to start three hours token strike in support of protesting female workers on May 30 and 31.
Addressing a press conference here today, Sushil Sudan, president, JKMEF, condemned the irresponsible and negligent of J&K Government in respect of Female Multipurpose Health Workers working under Salary Head 2211 Family Welfare.
He said that Female Multipurpose Workers are on indefinite protest dharnas and today is the 15th day of their continuous struggle but what to say of taking any positive action by the concerned authorities even a single officer of the department did not come and hear their woes.

Sudan said that keeping in view the sluggish attitude of the State Government in solving the issue, JKMEF and its registered units have decided to start 3 hours token strike in support of struggling workers. “All the work will remain paralyzed except emergency services throughout the Jammu province for 3 hours (1st half) on May 30 and 31.
The JKMEF president warned the higher authorities of the department and State Government to intensify the token strike further if the issue of pending salaries and permanent solution of Salary Head 2211 is not resolved shortly.
Prominent among present on the occasion were Vinod Sharma, secretary general, JKMEF, Jarnail Singh, working president, JKGPA, Anoop Singh, president, driver Cleaner union, Mohd Saleem, president, Ministerial Staff Association and Harpal Singh, president, X-Ray Technicians’ Association.
