JAMMU, Nov 20: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) Jammu today held a protest dharna against the Government for not honouring its agreement with the Federation, at Directorate of Health Complex Jammu.
The protest was held under the chairmanship of Sushil Sudan (president JKMEF, Member PCI), who while speaking on the occasion said that the Federation had suspended its protest on August 5 this year after reaching an agreement with then Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Health and Medical Education Department on Departmental Promotion Committee of all categories of Health employees and amendment in SRO -20.
He said the agreement with the Government was inked on 06-08-2021 at Srinagar in the presence of then Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo, Dr Renu Sharma (Director Health Services Jammu) and officers of Administrative department of Civil Secretariat Srinagar.
“The Government on 06-08-2021 accepted our demands of Departmental Promotion Committee (promotions) of Health employees and promised to conduct it within 15 days but now after the lapse of 4 months nothing has been done so far and the Health employees are suffering a lot,” Sudan said.
Sushil Sudan urged the Government as well as Director Heath Services Jammu to conduct DPC as the earliest and if the Government fails to conduct DPC of Health employees, they will further launch their protest with full might.
Others who addressed the gathering were Dharminder Singh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Dheeraj Sharma, Anita Bhagat, Kamal Jit Sawhney, Ved Paul Saini, Pawan Singh Jamwal, Meema Devi, Jag Dutt Sharma, Bhannu, Mukhtar Kohli, Madan Lal Sharma, Daleep, Shaffkat Hussain and Irshad Ahmed.
