JKMEF suspends strike as Dulloo assures early action on demands

SRINAGAR, Aug 6: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation today suspended its ongoing strike after Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Dulloo purportedly issued directions for early action on the demand of Departmental Promotion Committee of the Health Department employees and their other issues.
Atal Dulloo invited the President of JKMEF, Sushil Sudan and met him in his office chambers at Srinagar. The meeting was also attended by the Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Renu Sharma; Additional Secretary and Under Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department.
A threadbare discussion was held and the Additional Chief Secretary directed the Director Health Services, Jammu and officers of Health and Medical Education Department to resolve the issue of the employees on the priority basis. He assured the Federation that the recruitment rules for the various categories will be issued within 15 days.
The Additional Chief Secretary also appreciated the work of Medical and Para Medical staff under the Directorate of Health Services during the Covid pandemic.
Besides Sushil Sudan, the meeting was attended by Ch Jarnail Singh, Working President Jammu & Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association, Jammu and Sheikh Mehraj-ud-din, State President Jammu & Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association, Kashmir.
After the assurance from the Administrative Department, the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation announced suspension of the ongoing strike.
