UDHAMPUR, Dec 25: A meeting of Jammu Kashmir Movement for Old Pension Scheme (JKMOPS) was held here today during which the members strongly demanded the LG administration to implement old pension scheme for New Pension Scheme (NPS) employees and give condition less benefit of SRO-43.
The meeting was held under the leadership of its UT coordinator Parshant Sharma while district president JKTJAC Lekh Raj Parihar, UT chief advisor Sham Sharma and Provincial vice president Ashok Seth were special invitees. The meeting was attended by a large number of members from various departments.
While speaking on the occasion, Parshant Sharma laid stress on the implementation of old pension scheme in favour of all the NPS employees of the UT who have been appointed after 31.12.2009. He said that the old age future of NPS employees is in dark and unsecured as the NPS is proving anti employees.
He further said that those retiring under NPS are not getting guaranteed pension even after rendering their lives in their respective departments and just getting meager pension by which they are unable to even meet out the expenses of their medicines.
“How can we and our families survive on meager monthly pension of just Rs 2000-3000 in this era of inflation,” he asked and demanded condition less benefits of SRO-43 in favour of employees of the UT. He said that at present the UT administration has imposed so many conditions that it is very difficult to the suffering families to get the employment under SRO-43.
On the occasion, speakers of various departments appealed the LG administration to come up to the rescue of NPS employees of the UT by immediately implementing old pension scheme in their favour. They also urged for condition less benefits of SRO-43 in favour of all the employees of the UT.
