JKNC dissolves YNC

SRINAGAR, Apr 21: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) today dissolved all organisational wings of the Youth National Conference (YNC).
The party said the dissolution-which includes the Provincial Committee, Zonal Committees, District Committees, and Block Committees of YNC Kashmir-was approved by its President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, with immediate effect.
Following the directive of the party president, Salman Ali Sagar has been appointed as the acting President of YNC Kashmir.
He will work closely with senior leaders from the Kashmir Province to provide recommendations for the selection of a new Provincial President for YNC Kashmir, the party said.
The senior leaders involved in the consultation process include Mubarak Gul, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sakina Ittoo, Shamim Firdous, Dr. Bashir Veeri and Dr. Sajad Shafi Uri.
Acting President of YNC Kashmir and MLA from Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, said the committee formed in this regard will submit its report within 30 days, after which a new youth president will be elected.
“It’s a good process because it will give new faces a chance to work for the party. We have become MLAs-this process will help bring forward a new generation of youth leadership,” he said.
