JKNM to evolve broader consensus on twin city concept

JAMMU, June 13: Jammu Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM) in a meeting here today chalked out the future programme to reach a broader consensus for inclusive concentrated rehabilitation of the displaced community in twin city (Nav Srinagar) as endorsed by the team of interlocutors in their final feed back report.
The meeting which was chaired by S K Koul, Advisory Board chairman, JKNM said that the community stands at cross roads because of ornamental behavior of the successive Governments as well as the failure of community leadership to bring convergence and consensus at least on the core issue of rehabilitation and retention in Kashmir valley.
The meeting said that it is incumbent upon the intellectuals, social workers, political activists and other respectable members of the community to join hands and minds together for convergence and broader consensus on the core issue of restitution in Kashmir best suited under the present circumstances tenable under the Constitution with a potential of self guarding, perseverance, progress and prosperity.
The meeting said that JKNM evolved an opinion on return module after discussing and debating with various sections of the society. The module in the shape of wholesome satellite city concept was accepted by the members of the community in its meeting on March 4 last year which was further reformed as twin city module by JKNM.
The meeting said the acceptance of the return module and its reflection in the final feed back report of team interlocutors is a triumph of reason over emotion. The interference in certain quarters that this return module is floated at behest of the Government and the establishment is not based on facts.
The participants in the meeting decided to launch an awareness campaign to reach out to the community brethren through corner meetings, discussions, seminars and literature in the first phase which will be followed by a signature campaign in the second phase.
