JKNPP accuses UT admn of biased towards recognized political parties

JAMMU, July 23: Special Session of JKNPP Secretariat was held today under the presidium of Harsh Dev Singh- Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia- president JKNPP with general secretaries and secretaries attending the event.
Prof Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of the J&K National Panthers Party, in his opening remarks, highlighted the uncertain times for the elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions who are not being provided adequate security and cooperation. “They are being left to fend themselves especially in Kashmir province where the threats from the militants are still prevalent and they are being prevented from working for the betterment of the society,” he added.
The Secretariat Members deliberated upon the current political situation of the Union Territory, wherein the administration under the Lt Governor is only allowing the BJP to conduct political rallies and other gatherings without any restrictions but is not allowing the other recognized political parties to even conduct their membership drive and awareness programmes by arresting the JKNPP workers. The members condemned such an attitude of the UT Government and with one voice and reiterated that such a conduct of the administration is happening for the first time in the country and is totally against the norms of democracy. The members also resolved to carry on the struggle for the downtrodden members of the society and other temporary and contractual workers who are being harassed by the administration by termination of their services.
To ensure justice to the unemployed youth, the JKNPP Secretariat resolved to conduct public meetings, mass contact and awareness programmes amongst the general public and the bureaucracy so as to awaken the sleeping UT administration to their plight and ensure that the much talked about thousands of jobs are advertized and filled immediately.
It was also resolved that the students and Youth Wings of the party so that the students are made aware of the policy and programmes being conducted by the Party.
Those who also spoke, included Yash Paul Kundal, Anita Thakur, Manju Singh, General Secretaries, Capt Anil Gour, Gagan Pratap Singh, Balwan Singh, Desh Rattan Pandita, Secretaries and Provincial President, Rajesh Padgotra.
