JAMMU, Jan 23: Observing Re-organization Day for J&K, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party organized a public rally in front of the Raj Bhawan, here today and announced Mahabharat Ratan Awards to 20 freedom fighters.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Bhim Singh said that the National Panthers Party shall decorate the foremost freedom fighters with ‘Mahabharat Ratan Awards’ who made historic and unparalleled sacrifices to attain freedom of India before 1947. He announced ‘Mahabharat Dogra Ratan Award’ to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and other freedom fighters, who included Sardar Bhagat Singh, Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmibhai, Mangal Pandey, Nawab Bhadur Syed Fateh Haider Ali (Tipu Sultan), Bahadur Shah Zaffar, Lala Lajpat Rai, General Zorawar Singh, Khudiram Bose, Veer Savarkar, Chander Shekhar Azad, Raj Guru, Sukhdev, Kunwar Singh, Ashfaq-Ullah, Ram Prasad Bismil, Sardar Udam Singh, Mohd Ali Johar, Shokat Ali Johar and Bal Ganga Dhar Tilak.
More heroes of freedom struggle shall be traced out by a search committee headed by Dr Mehmood Rahman Khan, IAS and former Vice-Chancellor of AMU.
Prof Bhim Singh announced that the Anita Bose, daughter of Subash Chander Bose will come to Delhi to receive ‘Mahabharat Ratan Award’ on behalf of her father. The Award will be presented to the kin/heirs of the Mahabharat Ratan in a grand celebration to be held in New Delhi in middle of March, he added.
The other important leaders of NPP, who addressed the rally, included Harshdev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Yashpal Kundal, Syed Mohd Rafiq Shah, S Daljit Singh, P K Ganju, Sudershan Singh Jamwal and Gh Mohd Shan, Anita Thakur, H C Jalmeria , Shanti Saroop Bastora, Bansi Lal Sharma, Faqir Nath, Jagdev Singh, Pushvinder Singh Manhas, Pratap Singh Jamwal, Gagan Partap Singh, Naresh Chib and Vinod Singh Jamwal.
The JKNPP declared full support and solidarity with the protesting youth in J&K, particularly the jail wardens, PHE, PDD, NYC activists demanding justice to them.
