UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: The Panthers Party district unit Udhampur, under the leadership of Balwant Singh Mankotia, State president JKNPP, today staged a vociferous protest demonstration against the hike in prices of essential commodities all across the State and the country. During the protest demonstration, which was held at Slathia Chowk, the angry protestors also burnt the effigy of the BJP amid raising anti-Government slogans.
Addressing the gathering, Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the prices of essential commodities had soared all time high during the BJP rule in the country and the State which had broken the back of a common man. He said that the price of gas cylinders had shocked the entire household while the petrol and diesel prices had touched the sky making the travel costlier for the people at large. He recalled that when BJP was in opposition, it always created ruckus over the slight hike in the prices of essential commodities but now when the price of gas fuel had soared by over Rs.400/- per cylinder the Saffron party continued to mock over the miserable plight of the common masses by still doling the slogan of ‘Achey Din’.
“Besides the fuel, prices of cereals, rice, etc have also soared to cause a burden on the budget of the middle class,” he said and added that people of the State and the country were suffering miserably and bearing the brunt of uncontrolled inflation.
Mankotia said that BJP, which was voted to power in the country and the State, has failed to realize its grandiloquent promise of good governance, development, employment opportunities, literacy, poverty alleviation, etc and was only indulging in rabble rousing and hollow rants for vote bank politics.
He said that Panthers Party shall continue its crusade against the back breaking inflation and not relent unless the State Government control the price rise to the succor of the people. He said that NPP shall agitate on every nook and corner of Jammu Pradesh to expose, oppose and depose the BJP for its duplicity, deceit and betrayals.
